‘Living Architecture’ – Holidays in Modern Architecture

Living Architecture‘ is a new not-for-profit organisation set up to revolutionise both architecture and the UK holiday rental business.

Five holiday homes by architects Peter Zumthor, MVRDV, NORD Architecture, Hopkins Architects and Jarmund/Vigsnæs Architects are nearing completion in England as part of the project initiated by writer Alain de Botton.

Designed to shake up both house-building and the holiday rentals industry in the UK, ‘Living Architecture’ plans to build one house per year after the completion of the first five buildings. Continue Reading →

‘Teesside’ Power Station by Heatherwick Studio

“With a rising global population and increasing political focus on the future of power generation, the task of designing a 49 mega-watt, bio-mass fuelled power station in Stockton-On-Tees is an interesting design challenge.

The UK Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai EXPO expresses British creativity and environmental engagement at the biggest event of its kind since the EXPO phenomenon began in 1851 with the Great Exhibition at London’s Crystal Palace.
