This is the proposal by Toronto-based Ja Studio in collaboration with Tadj-Farzin Studio that revisits the idea of the bridge as a multi-functional urban surface. Arhitektura d.o.o., in collaboration with PONTING (construction engineers) received second prize for their proposal for a competition sponsored by the city of Maribor in Slovenia within the European Capital of Culture. This is a Slovenian architecture project designed by Groleger Arhitekti. The proposal has won the 1st Prize in an international urban and architectural design competition in 2001. Called “White Box” the project is currently under construction in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova is due to be completed in 2011.
